The British medical association recommends a limit of 3-4 units a day for men and 2-3 units a day for women who are not pregnant. A unit is 25 ml spirits ( 40 % alc. Vol. ),  50 ml sherry or port ( 20 % alc. Vol. ) 12 ml wine ( 8 % alc. Vol. ) or 1 small can beer, lager or cider ( 3.5 % alc. Vol )
The threshold of alcoholism has been defined as a daily intake in excess of 1 ml of pure alcohol / kilo of body weight or 750 ml ( one bottle ) of wine with an alcohol content of 10 % for a person weighing 75 kg
Symptoms
  1. Delirium tremens – until an alcoholic drink is consumed
  2. Redness and enlarged capillaries in the face
  3. Weight loss
  4. Blackouts
  5. Aggressive behavior, excessive laughing or crying
  6. Memory problems
  7. Pain in the legs
  8. Sexual impotence

Causes
Alcoholism is often caused by depression or other mental problems. Belonging to certain social groups who drink habitually can encourage a lifestyle that leads to alcoholism , alcoholism is beginning to affect more and more younger people
Treatment

Melia officinalis- For anxiety and depression . Take 10 drops tincture 3 times daily
Valeriana- Act as a sedative – Take 1 drops tincture 3 times daily
Passiflora incarnate- As a sedative- 60 drops tincture at bed time
Sterculia- 10 drops tincture 3 times daily
Quercus- 10 drops tincture 3 times daily

Other measures
  1. Begin individual or group psychotherapy
  2. T5ake vitamins B1, B2, B6, nicotinamide C, D, and E to correct the deficines linked to alcoholism
  3. Avoid plant extracts or cosmetic products containing alcohol such as aftershave

Warning
Withdrawal from excessive alcohol consumption should be carried out under medical supervision
