The tall and handsome
Mast Tree sometimes known as the Cemetery tree belongs to the plant family Annonaceae. This is a common ornamental tree that is found growing everywhere in tropical climates. As the three trunks grew straight and without a bend, they were used for ship masts in the past. They produce many small branches that grow acropetally but droop downwards. This gives the tree a pyramidal shape. The bark of the tree is rather smooth and brown in color. The simple leaves are green and shiny with undulate margins. The flowers are yellowish green in fascicles and the small ovoid one- seeded fruits are classified as berries. They grow in small bunches.
