A good news for the world, rather new hope that disease deadly HIV / AID turns out there is no cure. A researcher managed to find stem cells that can be engineered to kill HIV virus.
Researchers at the University of California, the United States claimed, have shown that stem cells can be genetically engineered to attack HIV-infected cells in living organisms. They have identified a molecule known as the T-cell receptor
Then it guides the T cell clones to recognize and kill HIV-infected cells and the use of genetically to put into human blood stem cells. When the cells were placed in human tissues have been implanted in mice, these cells developed into a large population.
Finally, in particular population can target cells containing HIV proteins. Researchers have engineered human blood stem cells in the same way. The researchers found that they could form mature T cells can attack HIV in tissues where the virus resides.
In a series of tests on peripheral rat plasma, blood, and organs, the researchers found that the number of helper T cells' CD4 cells infected with HIV died. As a result, the level of HIV in the blood decreases.
"We believe that this study lays the foundation for potential use in the fight against HIV infection in people who are infected. There is hope through this study to eradicate the HIV virus from the body," said Scott Kitchen, aasisten UCLA professor of medicine.
